It takes a village to release a song. So, imagine a roster of 50+ contemporary and legacy artists, weekly single releases, and album drops.

As Verve Label Group’s Art Director, I supported our agile, in-house creative team by designing hands-on across a variety of digital and specialty print projects. My daily deliverables varied as I often created from scratch in addition to repurposing assets from external agencies, coordinating deliverables with artists’ teams, and managing ad-hoc requests.

Time Magazine’s first Earth Awards honorees embodied values of a more sustainable future. Mark Ruffalo and Gloria Walton have, for a decade, worked together at the Solutions Project, fighting for the belief that clean energy increases racial equity.

Working with Time’s Creative Director as an extra set of hands to the in-house creative team, I scaled an established brand system into multiple assets for the ceremony that was hosted at New York’s Mandarin Oriental hotel in summer 2023.

Its Apt 4 is a community-driven platform established by stylist Mecca James Williams. I worked with Mecca to build custom pitch deck materials that reflected Apt 4’s mission of merging self-care, home, and sanctuary.

As Blacktag’s Art Director, I set out to visually style an emerging, Series A tech brand that spoke to alternative, early adapters, age 18-35. I partnered with our Associate Creative Director, and together we protected the CEO/Creative Director’s time by leveraging sharp copy with a design language that juxtaposed Y2K cultural nostalgia— think Nike, Apple, and MTV — with futurism. We translated our Creative Director’s vision into cultural nuance and presented Blacktag to the world via original content series, NFTS, and IRL social mixers and panels. Blacktag also doubled as an agile content studio, scaling projects with a curated network of multidisciplinary collaborators.

After Saint Heron, I collaborated with Solange Knowles again when she and Kiehl's partnered on a limited edition skincare product. We alluded to the timelessness of marble sculptures by stylistically referencing marble textures and a vivid, pastel color palette. Sales from the product benefited charities DonorsChoose.org, 14+ Foundation, Inc., and Son of a Saint in New Orleans.

Before relaunching as a creative agency in 2021, Saint Heron started as an R&B compilation album with a digital editorial presence powered by Saint Records. Founded by Solange Knowles, the Saint Heron editorial platform connected their audience with independent and emerging artists via daily music, art, culture, and fashion news. During the initial era, Saint Heron's brand image drew heavily from Solange's True EP era, mirroring textures, vibrant colors, and collage. The spirit of New Orleans also influenced Saint Heron's branding as Knowles relocated to the city to record her album, A Seat At The Table. In alignment with a small team of editors, I merged my design and writing skillset to contribute daily content as well as editorial illustrations.
